About Life at Villager Condominium
Villager is located in the town of Indialantic,
on East Coast of Florida, near Melbourne. For those of you familiar with
the area, it is directly across from Long Doggers on A1A. (See Map)
There is an International airport in Melbourne
that services feeder flights from the major airlines, and Orlando International
airport is only 90 minutes away. Airport
Info
Villager has an active social life, especially in the winter
months when seasonal visitors are in town.
There is a secure lobby, 2 elevators and 2 stairways to every
floor. Unit #206 is on the second floor, and so is just a few steps from
the front door and the pool and beach. Access to the beach is across the
pool area, and down access steps to the beach. There is a shower station
to clean the sand off, when returning from the beach.
What about hurricanes?
There are 4 restaurants within a short walk of the Villager, and
another 10 or so within a 2 mile radius. Indialantic has many quaint
shops, and Wal-Mart, Winn Dixie (large grocery store), and more 'city-style'
shopping is 3 miles away.
The area has a good bus service,
from which you can access the mainland and the rest of the Space Coast.
Indialantic is a surfing town, so there are surf shops
nearby. Just down the beach is a public beach, with lots of people and
activities. But the beach in front of Villager is nearly empty all the
time.
There are 4-5 golf courses within a 30 minute drive. Tennis
courts and several health clubs are within a 10 minute drive. The Indian
River is within 2 miles, and there are lots of river-oriented boating
activities. There is an active sailing club
nearby that welcomes winter guests. (Things to Do)
In the summer months, it is turtle nesting season, and one of
the attractions is going out on a moonlit night and looking for nesting turtles.
(Sea Turtle
Preservation Society in Indialantic)
Orlando, with all its major tourist attractions and malls, is
about 1-1 1/2 hours drive away. The Florida cities of Jacksonville,
Gainesville, Ft. Lauderdale, Miami, and Tampa, are all about 3 hours away.
Daytona and West Palm are about 2 hours away.

This
unit has been fitted with brand new storm shutters that close off the entire
balcony.
This provides good protection from storm winds. The shutters can be
deployed in minutes with very little effort. Villager is on a high dune,
and Unit 206 is on the 2nd
floor, well above storm surge levels.
