Golf In East Central Florida

Florida is a mecca for golfers and golf course designers.  The Melbourne area has a number of world-class golf courses, as well as some inexpensive city-run and county-run courses.

The Habitat - Located in Valkaria, just south of Palm Bay (about 15 minutes from the beach area), the Habitat Golf Course is part of the Brevard County Parks Department.  It is a par 72 course, and features 18-holes for as low as $10, with a discount card.

The Savannahs - Located in Merritt Island, north of the Beeline/SR528, the Savannahs Golf Course is a par-72 championship course.  The Savannahs is part of the Brevard County Parks Department, and features great golf for reasonable rates.

Spessard Holland - Located ON THE BEACH, in the Melbourne Beach area, Spessard Holland Golf Course is a par 67 stretch executive course.  Spessard Holland is part of the Brevard County Parks Department, and features great golf for reasonable rates.

Baytree - Baytree National Golf Links, a Gary Player signature course, boasts one of the best semi-private golf facilities in the southeast. The design philosophy of Gary Player has all players in mind. However, his emphasis is on the average man and woman.  A par 72, 7,043 yard (from the black tees) course, Baytree is golf at its finest. The challenges abound from the 73 white sand bunkers to the unique red shale waste areas. The greens are of varying shapes and sizes that allow difficult, as well as easily accessible pin placements. This course will test a golfer's shot-making skills.

Viera East - Rated 4-star by Golf Digest Magazine, Viera East Golf Club features an 18-hole Joe Lee design layout.  It is located in the new development of Viera, just north of Melbourne (about 10 minutes from the north beaches and 20 minutes from the south beaches)

City of Melbourne Golf Courses - The Melbourne Municipal Golf Course is located on US 192 in Melbourne.  The Harbor City Golf Course is located off Lake Washington Road at the north end of Melbourne.  Both courses are 18-hole courses, managed by PGA Professionals, and offer a variety of services including pro shops, driving ranges, putting greens, locker room facilities, and snack bars.

Turtle Creek - Turtle Creek Golf Club is the only course in Brevard County to offer the Pro Link GPS Yardage System.  Turtle Creek's fairways meander through a natural Florida habitat and offer a splendid challenge for players of all skill levels. The course is abundant with bird life and streams of fish and turtles. There are plenty of natural pines, oaks, palms and other natural vegetation blending beauty, nature, and insight to create a splendid challenge for golfers of all levels. Turtle Creek is located in Rockledge, about 10 minutes north of Melbourne, out by I-95 (about 20-30 minutes from the beaches).
